Stilwell continues World Record setting ways in Australia

26 01 2012

Michelle Stilwell of Nanoose Bay, B.C., capped off a spectacular showing at the 2012 Summer Down Under series today in Sydney, Australia with two more World Records, bringing her total to three over the course of three days. The 2012 Summer Down Under series finishes tomorrow with a 10-kilometre road event.

Weather can't slow down Stilwell

The weather in Australia today wasn't ideal making for less than ideal track conditions; however that didn't stop Stilwell from bettering her T52 wheelchair classification World Records in the 100 and 200-metres.  In the 100-metres she established the new world best at 19.42 seconds trimming one tenth off of her previous World Record of 19.52. In the 200-metres she clocked 34.97 seconds, bettering her previous mark of 35.22 established in June 2011. Stilwell has now bettered the 200-metres World Record on five occasions.
