Clayton Gerein

Profile

Clayton Gerein has competed in every Paralympic Summer Games since the 1984 Games in New York state, where he participated in swimming. After his first Games, he switched to athletics. 

One of his strongest events is the men’s marathon. He earned medals in the marathon at the Seoul, Barcelona, Atlanta, Sydney and Athens Summer Games. He has a total of 15 Paralympic medals. 

Beijing will be his seventh Games. 

Gerein also enjoys Alpine skiing. He is married with two daughters. He received the Commemorative Medal of the 125th Anniversary of Canadian Confederation for his significant contribution to Canada.
