Your chance to play sledge hockey with some of Canada’s best on the Rideau Canal Skateway
Ottawa, ON, (February 16, 2010) – This Sunday, February 20th, the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC), the National Capital Commission (NCC), Hockey Canada, and Sledge Hockey of Eastern Ontario (SHEO), invite journalists to play sledge hockey with national team members on the Rideau Canal Skateway. As Canada celebrates the one year anniversary of Vancouver 2010, Winterlude will host some of Canada’s retired and current national team members, as well as local sledge hockey players for a shiny game at Pig Island, near 5th avenue. There will also be an opportunity for the general public to get in a sled and try sledge hockey skills with the help of Canada’s best.
When: Sunday, February 20, 2011
2:00 pm to 4:00 pm
What: Current and former members of Canada’s National Sledge Hockey team will demonstrate sledge hockey with local players and journalists. Afterwards, there will be a chance for the general public to get into sleds and try out some sledge hockey skills.
