Sr. Coordinator, Development Pathways: Marie Dannhaeuser
Marie is a former Paralympic swimmer, a member of Canada’s
Mission Staff at two Paralympic Games (Beijing 2008 and Vancouver 2010) and an
active participant in sport development programs within the CPC in volunteer
and advisory roles. Marie is completing her PhD in Sport, Exercise and Health
Sciences from Loughborough University, UK, and has a wealth of knowledge to
apply to the complex and important task of developing the Canadian Para-sport
system.
Coordinator, Recruitment: Laura Ferris
Laura has valuable experience in recruitment programs, most recently
employed with the Ontario Wheelchair Sports Association to run the Bridging the
Gap program. She also volunteers as a coach of Para-athletics and wheelchair
basketball and is one of the co-founders of the Toronto Tornadoes ParaSport
Club. In the past she has been a CPC Ambassador for CPC First Contact events like
Sports Day in Canada and also has experience with the Soldier On program as a
sport provider. Laura is bilingual.
Director, Sport: Jennifer Larson
Jennifer brings with her over 10 years’ experience in
leading programs in Paralympic Sport, having worked with organizations
including the Ontario Special Olympics, ParaSport Ontario and most recently as
the Executive Director of the Canadian Cerebral Palsy Sports Association. She
has served as Mission Staff at Paralympic Games in Beijing 2008 and Atlanta 1996
and at the Parapan American Games in Rio in 2007 and has extensive experience
throughout the Paralympic sport continuum, ranging from starting a club to
developing national high performance plans. She has also been an international
boccia referee since 1994.
