Ottawa,
ON (March 17, 2011) – In celebration of the one-year
anniversary of the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games, the Canadian
Paralympic Committee (CPC) would like to invite media to talk to Paralympic
Sledge Hockey player Marc Dorion, as he returns from Japan with a silver medal
earned at the Four Nations Cup. Marc will share his greatest memories from the
Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games
while highlighting the significant legacy the Games have had on the National Sledge
Hockey team over the last few years.
At the age of 23, Marc Dorion is one of the
youngest players on Team Canada.
At 16 years old, Marc earned his spot on the National team and has been a
fearless player since then. He is now driven by the goal of winning gold at the
Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games. Marc holds gold medals from the 2008 International
Paralympic Committee (IPC) Sledge Hockey World Championships, the 2007 and 2008
World Sledge Hockey Challenges, as well as a 2006 Paralympic gold medal from Torino. He was also a member of the 2010 National team
when Canada
ended up in fourth place at the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games.
