Tennis Canada is happy
to announce that the Ottawa Athletic Club will host this year’s Birmingham
National Championship from November 3 - 6 2011. “We are excited to partner up
with the OAC for this year’s edition of the Birmingham National Championship.
The club is a state of the art facility and it will undoubtedly provide our
athletes with an excellent setting to allow them to perform at their best, as
well as providing OAC members some new insights into wheelchair tennis” says
Janet Petras, director of Wheelchair Tennis for Tennis Canada.
Since 1976 the Ottawa Athletic Club has thrived in the National Capital Region
by offering an attractive, friendly, fun environment to its members for
learning, enjoying and mastering the great game of tennis. The OAC features
eight indoor tennis courts and six outdoor courts, as well as an impressive
array of athletic and fitness facilities, all of which perfectly complement a
comprehensive tennis program. The Ottawa Athletic Club is without a doubt a
unique gem in Eastern Ontario.
“The Ottawa Athletic Club is delighted to be hosting the National
Championships. We have a strong tradition of supporting the growth and
development of Wheelchair tennis, and it will be exciting to welcome Canada’s
best to the club and the capital city,” says Tony Roth, director of Tennis at
the OAC.
