OTTAWA, Ont. - Athletics Canada’s Para-Athletics National Development Squad (NDS) Camp kicked off today in Windsor, Ont., it will be the best attended NDS camp with 23 wheelchair and 18 ambulatory athletes present.
The NDS Camp provides opportunity for individual athlete growth while working in a team atmosphere helping build the understanding and expectations of Athletics Canada’s para-athletics program. The camp is broken down into three major components; classroom sessions, training and competition.
As a component of the NDS Camp participating athletes have the opportunity to take part in the 5th annual Boiling Point Wheelchair Track Classic on Saturday July 9. Boiling Point features an all-comers component for youth and development level athletes as well as an Elite component featuring Canadian and international athletes. Athletes from all over the world will converge on Windsor, Ont., to face Canada’s best with a projected prize purse of $15 000 on the line.

As the premier para-athletics competition in Canada, Boiling Point provides development athletes with a chance to face strong competition within their competitive classes. All-comers competition will get underway at 12:30pm eastern time with Elite finals taking to the track at 6:30pm.
