January 26, 2011
OTTAWA - Michelle Stilwell of Nanoose Bay, BC has won her third gold medal at the IPC World Championships in New Zealand. Her third victory of these games, along with her third championships record, came in the T52 400-metres clocking in at 1 minute 12.71 seconds.

“So far during these games I have been focusing on my performance in each event and not the outcome”, explains Stilwell. “When you focus on the performance the result will come”. Stilwell adds “I am so proud of my team that has backed me here at the games; from our coaches, manager, IST staff and mechanic…I share this with them.”

Dorval, QC’s Brent Lakatos won his second medal of the championships capturing the T53 200-metres silver medal in 26.93. Earlier this week he won the T53 100-metres bronze.
