OTTAWA
- The 2011 IPC World Championships in Athletics begin today in Christchurch, New
Zealand. The 6th edition of these championships will take place at
QEII Park; the 15000 seat stadium was the site of the 1974 Commonwealth Games.
The stadium features a Mondo track surface which should ensure fast times.

The T54 classification wheelchair 100-metre semi-final is slated for 19:05 local (1:05am eastern) time January 22. Expected to line up in that final are both Colin Mathieson and Curtis Thom, pending they qualify out of Friday’s first round.
