In England on Friday Josh Cassidy of Guelph, ON captured yet another international road race title at the Tyne Tunnel 2k. Cassidy beat a strong field including double 2008 Paralympic Games gold medalist David Weir (4:13.3) in a personal best time of 4:04.3.  Third went to Ernst van Dyk of South Africa in 4 minutes and 23 seconds.

"The event had the toughest competition in years so it was great to come out on top" comments Josh following his victory. "I was pleased to have a clear win while also setting a personal best."

Yesterday Cassidy took on a similar field at the UK Great North Run half marathon where he placed second just 6 seconds behind Weir who won in just under 45 minutes (44:49.1).
