Canadian Boccia Team Ready for 2011 Boccia World Cup

The Canadian boccia National Team is currently in Belfast, Ireland to take part in the CPISRA 2011 Boccia World Cup. The competition will start on August 20th and will conclude on August 26th. This is the last event to qualify for Team and Pair events at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

“The Level of play on the international scene is increasing year after year and the Asian teams will be serious contenders again this year”, mentioned, Mario Delisle, Head Coach of the National Team Program. “I believe that we will obtain good results because we have a strong group of experienced athletes and they are ready to face the world”

BC2 Bronze medalist at the last World Championships, Adam Dukovich is looking forward to the event. “I have been training very hard the whole year for the World Cup and my goal is to medal in individual competition. I expect the BC1/BC2 Team will also perform well.

The pair and team competition is scheduled for August 21st and 22nd and the individual competition will be held August 23-26.
