OTTAWA, ON - All three of Canada's Paracanoe athletes made it to the podium at the Paracanoe World Championships in Poznan, Poland today as the team captured medals across four events.
Christine Gauthier of Pointe-Claire, QC lead the field by winning gold in the Women's K1 200 metre LTA event for a second consecutive year. OTTAWA - Eighteen of Canada's best wheelchair racers, including world record holders Diane Roy of Sherbrooke, Que., and Michelle Stilwell of Nanoose Bay, B.C., have traveled to Switzerland to compete in a series of meets being held May 17, 19 and 20.
Roy is the world record holder in the T54 classification 5000-metres, in Switzerland she will race in this event as well as compete in the 400, 800 and 1500-metres. Tracey Ferguson, veteran player with the Canadian Women's National Wheelchair Basketball Team, is among four Paralympic athletes who will meet His Royal Highness Prince Charles on May 22, 2012 for a tour of the 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games Athletes' Village in Toronto, ON.
Ferguson will join fellow athletes Victoria Nolan (rowing), Justin Karn (judo), and David Willsie (wheelchair rugby) for the tour.
Ferguson, a three-time Paralympic gold medallist, has played on the National Team since 1991. She is set to compete at her sixth Paralympic Games this summer in London, England.

Goyang City, Korea will play host to the 2013 International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Ice Sledge Hockey A Pool World Championships, the IPC announced on Tuesday (15 May), the first time an Asian country will stage the event.
