TORONTO - In an action packed Day 2 athletes continued to make their marks at the 2010 Canadian Track & Field Championships. Recording her fifth career title, Jessica Zelinka of Calgary, AB was crowned champion in the heptathlon with 5998 points. In the men’s decathlon, Jamie Adjetey-Nelson of Windsor, ON took his first ever Canadian Championship title in the decathlon with 7780 points. Both Zelinka and Adjetey-Nelson have made standard to compete at the 2010 Commonwealth Games team pending final team selection. Day 1 at the Canadian Championships Athletics Canada - The first day of competition at the Canadian Track and Field Championships was highlighted by day 1 of the combined events, qualifying rounds and a number of athletes crowned Canadian champions. Canada’s best 22 para-cyclists to represent Canada on home soil in Baie-Comeau, QC (Ottawa, ON – July 21, 2010) Canada will send 22 of its top Para-cyclists to compete at the 2010 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships to be held in Baie-Comeau, Québec, from August 18-22, 2010. Held annually, the UCI Para-cycling World Championships are considered the biggest para-cycling event in the world after the Paralympic Games. (Birmingham, UK) The Canadian Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Team captured Bronze and  reached the podium for the fifth consecutive World Championship with a 59-49 win over Australia Saturday. Canada rallied from an 11 point deficit in the opening quarter to outscore Australia 40-20 in the second half.  The Canadians seemed to get better as the game went on revving up their offense from an 8 point output in the first quarter to a 21 point surge in the fourth quarter.
