Team Canada

The team aims to post a top-8 finish in Gold medal count at the London Games which is a goal that was established in collaboration with Own the Podium (OTP), Sport Canada and all summer National Sport Federations (NSF).  With more and more countries investing in Paralympic sport and competing at the Games, the battle for medals will be fiercer than ever in London. The number of countries participating has risen sharply, from 23 countries in Rome in 1960, to 146 in Beijing in 2008. In London, 163 countries are expected to participate.

Canadian athletes are training hard to get on the podium in London. Athletics, Swimming, Wheelchair Basketball and Wheelchair Rugby are just a few of the sports where Canadians are expected to produce great results!

Canada will bring a total of 145 athletes to compete in 15 sports in London. They are joined by 12 athlete support personnel (cycling pilots, running guides, boccia sport assistants and a rowing coxswain), and 134 officials (coaches, managers, support staff, mission staff).
