As Group Head, International Banking and Insurance, Jim Westlake is responsible for RBC’s banking businesses outside of Canada, as well as the organization’s global insurance and credit card businesses. As a member of Group Executive, he is one of eight executives responsible for setting the overall strategic direction of RBC. Before joining RBC in January 1995, Jim spent 19 years with the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company.
Jim has a long history of service to community and charitable organizations, including roles as Chair of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and General Campaign Chair of the United Way of Peel Region. Currently, he sits on the boards of the Canadian Paralympic Committee and National Gallery of Canada Foundation. Jim graduated with a diploma in business administration from Loyalist College in Belleville and a Master of Business Administration degree from Queen's University.
